Breaking the Glass
by Douglas A. Cox
Like snow in a globe the memories swirl
Of the year gone by,
Fast the hour glass empties now
The time just seems to fly
I think of things accomplished
And those things left undone
The glory of the moments past
The battles lost and won
But tomorrow is what calls me now
This strong new voice I hear
That beckons me to come ahead
Into this brand New Year
To rise above my experience
To see things I've never seen
To step off into the mystery
And be what I've never been
So here's to our great adventures
And all that there is to see
Not what we were just yesterday
But what we were born to be
